Curtain draws for 5th Pastor Eno Easter U-17 Unity Cup final

The stage is set for the grand finale of the 5th Pastor Umo Eno Easter Under-17 Unity Cup, scheduled for Friday, April 24, 2026 at the Uyo Township Stadium.

This year’s edition is significant as it is also being used to commemorate the 62nd birthday of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, who turns 62 tomorrow.

The highly anticipated final match will see Hon. Frank Achibong Babes FC, Eket lock horns with Macito Solution FC, Uyo in what promises to be a thrilling climax to this year’s edition.

Governor Eno is expected to grace the grand finale as part of activities marking his 62nd birthday.

The Commissioner for Sports Development, Elder Paul Bassey, will serve as Chief Host of the event.

The finals will be declared open by the Chief Whip, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and former Board Member, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Rt. Hon. Sir Chief Effiong Johnson.

In a special recognition, the member representing Oruk Anam/Ukanafun Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem, and Hon. Frank Archibong will be honoured for their contributions to grassroots sports development.

Organized by the Grassroots Sports Federation (GRASOF) under the ARISE Agenda of Governor Eno, the 5th edition has directly impacted over 6,000 youths across the 31 Local Government Areas of the State.

Beyond football, this year’s tournament carries added significance as it celebrates the 62nd birthday of the Governor, whose passion for youth empowerment birthed the competition.

The tournament has served as a platform for discovering and showcasing new football talents, with scouts and agents expected at the finals.

Speaking ahead of the finale, the organizers noted that “this tournament is more than football. It is about unity, youth empowerment, and building the next generation of stars for Akwa Ibom and Nigeria. As we celebrate His Excellency’s 62nd birthday tomorrow, Uyo Township Stadium go boil as we crown the champions of the 5th edition.”
