The management of Castmog Ladies FC has appealed to the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) to reconsider the decision to automatically relegate the league due to late registration.
In a statement signed by the General Manager of the team, Prince Adeniyi Adeyinka, the club regrets its delay in completing registration, stating that it was due to an unforeseen financial constraints that have since been addressed.
“We humbly appeal for reconsideration and reinstatement into the league, as we now have a confirmed sponsorship agreement that guarantees full financial backing for the entire season. We are fully prepared and resourced to meet all operational and competition requirements.
“We are not just pleading for sympathy, but for an opportunity to fulfill our rightful place in the NWFL and contribute meaningfully to the league's progress and competitiveness,” the statement reads, assuring the league body that such oversight will never repeat itself.
Equally, the club management said they are open to any conditions or sanctions that will ensure compliance moving forward.
