AFN president, Okowa heads to Tunisia as Special Guest for CAA North Africa Championships

Senior Vice President of the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA), President of CAA Region 2, and President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), Chief Tonobok Okowa, will travel to Tunisia as the Special Guest at the CAA North Africa Region Championships scheduled for July 17–19, 2026, in Ain Drahem.

Chief Okowa was invited by the Tunisian Athletics Federation and the Local Organizing Committee in recognition of his outstanding leadership and contributions to the growth of athletics across Africa.

During the three-day championship, he is expected to attend official engagements, interact with athletics administrators, and support the successful hosting of the event, which will feature some of North Africa's top athletes and emerging talents.

His invitation further highlights his rising influence in African athletics following his election as Senior Vice President of the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA).

After fulfilling his official responsibilities in Tunisia, Chief Okowa will travel via London to Scotland, where he will join Team Nigeria at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, continuing his commitment to supporting Nigerian athletes and promoting the development of athletics on the international stage.
