Adeboye reaffirms FG's commitment to grassroots sports development

The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Grassroots Sports Development, Hon. Anthony Adeyinka Adeboye, has assured Nigerians of the commitment of the Federal Government of Nigeria, to the continued development of grassroots sports in the country.

Speaking Thursday in Abuja, after he chaired a special meeting of the Main Organising Committee (MOC), for the forthcoming National Grassroots Sports Development Summit 2026, scheduled to hold on 18th and 19th November 2026 at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja.

According to Adeboye, the meeting focused on preparations, coordination and strategies to ensure a successful summit that will strengthen grassroots sports development and create sustainable pathways for discovering and nurturing young talents across Nigeria.

"The forthcoming National Grassroots Sports Development Summit, is a further testament of the federal government's unflinching commitment to youth and sports development in Nigeria, which of course, aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of this government.

"There's the strong need to further solidify the foundation of our sports ecosystem and that is the grassroots level," he emphasised.
