Coming on the heels of the Super Falcons' shocking 2-3 loss to debutants Malawi in their opening game of the 2026 WAFCON ongoing in Morocco, one of the most prominent football promoters and investors in Nigeria, nay African football, has come up to declare his unreserved belief in the abilities of the Super Falcons, to bounce back to reckoning.
Hon. Anthony Adeyinka Adeboye, the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Grassroots Sports Development, while speaking with Sports Chronicle Magazine, from Glasgow, Scotland, reaffirmed that the reigning WAFCON champions and record 10th title winners, shall redeem themselves.
"It’s still a pain in our hearts that our African queens lost to Malawi. That's football for you," Adeboye, quips.
"However, considering the immense qualities of our team, I want to state confidently that the Super Falcons, shall bounce back stronger and better. They also understand that a world cup slot is at stake."
The Super Falcons square up against Zambia in its next game on Saturday. Going into the second group games, the Zambians lead the table with three points and a huge goals advantage.
