PSG still leads race to sign Osimhen
... As Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal play catch up
It almost certain that Nigeria striker, Victor Osimhen will exit Napoli at the end of the season but his destination is yet in public domain.
However, www.sportsunlimited.ng gathered that he's like to return to France with PSG said to be leading the race to acquire him despite Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal also circling.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, PSG is leading the race to sign Osimhen, despite interest from Premier League clubs, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United.
PSG has ‘moved into front row’ to sign Napoli striker Osimhen, Il Corriere dello Sport reports.
The newspaper claims the Ligue 1 giant is ‘getting closer’ to the striker’s €130m release clause as it sees the Nigeria international as the ideal replacement for Real Madrid-bound Kylian Mbappé.
Osimhen has recently signed a contract extension until 2026, but it includes a €130m clause and Napoli is prepared to part company with the 2022-23 Serie A leading scorer at the end of the season.
Il Corriere dello Sport highlights that PSG and Napoli already completed several deals in the past. Ezequiel Lavezzi and Edinson Cavani moved to Paris in 2012 and 2013, respectively, for a combined €95m transfer fee, while Fabian Ruiz signed for the Ligue 1 giants in 2022 for €23m.
Il Corriere dello Sport confirms Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United are closely monitoring Osimhen, but PSG is currently leading the race to sign the 25-year-old.
