Former President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Melvin Pinnick, has firmly stated that he will not be returning to lead the federation.

In an exclusive interview with News Central, Pinnick emphasised that, although he is eligible to run for a third term as NFF president, he has no intention of doing so.

“I’m young. I’m 55. I can still be an NFF president. But do I want to be? Never,” Pinnick declared.

“I’ve done eight years, and I’m okay with it. So it’s moving forward. It’s helping the federation, seeing some of their inadequacies, and figuring out how to make it adequate.”

Pinnick served as NFF president from 2014 to 2022, completing two full terms in office.

During his tenure, he also held significant roles in the African football landscape, including First Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and a member of FIFA's Organising Committee for Competitions.

His decision to step away marks the end of a significant chapter in Nigeria's football history, as he looks toward supporting the federation's growth from outside the presidency.
