Paris Olympic's Nigeria/Spain: Okumagba laments lack of match tickets for supporters
As the Women's Olympic Football Tournament got off to a thrilling start on Thursday, when Super Falcons fell to a Brazil's 37th-minute goal, the Nigeria girls will today face the tournament's favourite, Spain in the second match.
The president of Super Eagles Supporters Club, Prince Vincent Okumagba has lamented the challenge faced by the his members, which is non availability of match tickets for the Supporters Club to cheer the girls to victory.
The SESC boss who spoke via telephone, said the lack of match tickets for the members of the Supporters Club might pose a threat to activities of his group that will be storming Stade de la Beaujoire, Nantes, in France today in large numbers to cheer Falcons.
Okumagba stressed that Nigeria has demonstrated that they can overcome setbacks and achieve remarkable achievements, even though they lost their first game.
"Over the past year or so, the Spanish women's national team, also known as La Roja, has been a major player in conversations about women's football, but nevertheless we are very hopeful of getting the needed results to advance to the second round from them," he noted.
