Osun Dep Gov inspects Osogbo Stadium, commends Maxwell Int'l Venture
The Osun State Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi has commended Maxwell Int'l Venture, as the renovation of the Osogbo Township Stadium progresses significantly.
Prince Adewusi, who doubles as the Commissioner for Sports on Tuesday conducted an on-site inspection of the sports facility with his entourage.
Initiated by Governor Ademola Adeleke, the Osogbo Township Stadium is undergoing a major remodelling to achieve world-class status.
Handled by Maxwell Int'l Venture, the project features two international-standard football pitches, various sports courts, a hotel, and renovated athlete hostels.
Speaking to journalists at the Sports Complex site, Prince Adewusi explained that the tour was aimed at evaluating the level of work done as the project approaches its completion timeline.
"From what we've seen on site, a lot has been achieved. This project is particularly important to the sports development of our youth. The contractors informed me that they fast-tracked the project according to our timeline.
"We don't want a situation, where during the inspection of the race track by the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), the international body, IAAF, would reject it for not meeting the required standards. The reason why some race qualifying results were cancelled.
"I want you to expedite action on the project as we want Osun United and Osun Babes to prosecute the next football season in Osogbo. So we want to see a significant improvement in the facility."
Arc. John Ewule, the Project Manager, Maxwell Int'l Venture assured the sound State Deputy Governor of the timely completion of the state-of-the-art project.
