Responding to our reporter, Mr. Michael Nkem Onwuegbuzia, Senior Communication Consultant (BHM) said the reason the brand keep sponsoring MTN CHAMPS because the objectives of the competition are in sync with its development goals for Nigerian youths.

"MTN is driven by its commitment to youth development, nation-building, and grassroots talent discovery. MTN CHAMPS aligns with the brand’s vision of enabling opportunities, using sports as a platform to empower young Nigerians, build future champions, and create lasting social impact while strengthening brand affinity." Mr. Onuwuegbuzia observed.

Meanwhile, many athletic stakeholders have commended the brand for their dedication despite the challenge of facilities for the upcoming athletes.

MTN, however, expects stronger collaboration with government and private sector partners to invest in building, upgrading, and maintaining accessible sporting facilities. This includes policy support, funding, and sustainable management models to ensure young talents across the country have the right environment to train and thrive.
