... Say his death devastating to Nigeria football fraternity

Former Nigeria Internationals, Ndubuisi Okosieme, Baldwin Bazuaye and Saturday Okao, have described the death of former Super Eagles utility midfielder, Henry Nwosu, as a big loss to the Nigerian football fraternity.

The Benin based ex-players also blamed the Nigeria government for neglecting their past heroes, most especially those that wore the Nigerian Green and White colours on international scene.

According to Okosieme, "It was a big shock to me. In fact I have not gotten myself since Saturday when I heard about the news of his death.

"Late Henry Nwosu, aka Skippo, was a jolly good fellow, he played his life out for Nigeria, he was a midfield general. He hardly got annoyed. His death is a big blow to Nigeria football family and we will all live to remember him."

For Baldwin Bazuaye, he said: "Well first thing I will say is beg God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. Late captain Nwosu, is a senior brother to me, my late father, Willy Bazuaye coached him. That time I was always with my father. He was a very good person, highly talented player. In fact I see him as my role model because I learnt a lot from him when my father was coaching them in New Nigeria Bank FC (NNB)."

"When Peter Rufia died we all mourned him, and I wasn't happy with the comments some people about ex- Nigerian internationals on Federal Government's neglect. It is a pity that we are in a country were out leaders and rulers don't give honour to their heroes. This is why am using this opportunity to appeal to ex-players to try as much as possible to take care of themselves. If you keep waiting for government to do it for you, you are taking a big risk," he admonished.

For the former Police Machine FC captain, Saturday Okao, he said: "Henry Nwosu was indeed a great player who served his fatherland meritoriously. He was a humble national team player known for his football artistry. Nigerians will miss him greatly. Is a very sad story and I pray God grant the family he left behind the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss."
