The President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engr. Musa Nimrod, the Board Members, and the entire volleyball family have said that they received with deep sorrow the news of the passing of Late Emma Jatto, former Captain and Players’ Representative of Nigerian Volleyball.
Late Emma Jatto was an exceptional leader, a committed patriot of the sport, and a strong voice for players’ welfare. His contributions to Nigerian volleyball, particularly in his roles as team captain and players’ representative, were marked by dedication, integrity, discipline, and selfless service. He was a bridge-builder whose leadership inspired teammates and earned him the respect of administrators, coaches, and players alike.
His demise is a profound loss to the Nigeria Volleyball Federation and the Nigerian sports community at large. We mourn the departure of a true servant of the game whose legacy will continue to inspire future generations of volleyball players.
On behalf of the President, Board Members, and the entire Nigeria Volleyball Federation, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, teammates, and loved ones of Late Emma Jatto. We pray that God Almighty grants the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and that the soul of our departed brother rests in perfect peace.
It would be recalled that in his professional career, Jatto Played for Al Ahli VC Tripoli Libya, Al Swehli VC Misurata and Police VC Egypt
It was gathered that his Wake Keep is billed for Thursday, January 29, 2026 by 4:00pm at Shuna Academy, Diye Abba Quarters, Zarama Ganda, Jos.
The Church Service and Burial will take place the following day on Friday January. 30, 2026 by 11:00am at ECWA Goodnews Church, 54 Ahmadu Bello Way, Jos.
