NSC paying Super Eagles coach, Chelle's salaries -Dikko

The chairman National Sports Commission (NSC), Mallam Shehu Dikko, has revealed to ww. sportsunlimited.com. that it's the commission that has been paying Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle salary since he assumed as coach.

Dikko also revealed that in Chelle's 12 months as coach of the Nigeria Senior National football team, the commission has had to pay Chelle's salary upfront.

"Many times we'd to pay three months upfront salary for Super Eagles coach, did he complain"?

"Since we employed him as Super Eagles coach, we, the commission has been the one paying his salary, he informed.

Recently the NSC paid coach Chelle's 3 months upfront salary.

Chelle was appointed as Super Eagles coach on January, 7 2025. by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). His appointment was aimed at guiding the team to secure a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup Finals.

Eric Chelle's appointment as Super Eagles coach is for a two-year contract with a monthly salary of $55,000 dollars which is equivalent to around N84,984,900.

His assistants are reportedly earning $5,000 dollars each per month.

The Sports Commission has also settled all salary obligations owed to him, including his January 2026 pay, he's been paid $60,000 dollars in match bonuses, calculated at $20,000 dollars per game, along side a daily camp allowance of $400 dollars.
