NOGIG 2026 a milestone -- Eze

The 20th edition of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Games, NOGIG 2026 billed to kick off February 8 to 14 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja has been described as a milestone.

Speaking with our correspondent on the phone, the second vice chairman of the local Organizing committee NOGIG 2026, Nnadozie Eze said that there was so much to look forward to as the organizers have packaged what could turn out to be the best NOGIG ever.

"You already know, this is a special edition. It is the 20th in the series. This is a milestone for NOGIG. So a lot is expected from us the organizers, the participating athletes and the spectators as well," Eze said.

Continuing Eze informed that for the first time fifteen companies will participate in the games, a development, he said, had caused the LOC to expand its operational scope in terms of logistics, equipment and other requirements for smooth and seamless games.

"You can see with me that NOGIG is getting bigger, the enthusiasm amongst participants is high, particularly, after seeing what happened in Port Harcourt during the football preliminaries," the second vice chairman said.

He assured that the security sub committee was leaving no stone unturned to ensure the safety of athletes, officials and spectators during the wee-long games.

With the degree of awareness and enthusiasm amongst the participating companies, there is a likelihood that the event will be moved to another city in future .l
