Gombe United FC have been sanctioned by the Nigeria National League (NNL) following incidents that occurred during their Matchday 11 fixture against Yobe Desert Stars.

The Savannah Scorpions were fined ₦2,390,000 for encroachment, attempting to disrupt the live streaming of the match, and damaging equipment belonging to the league’s streaming partner.

As part of the disciplinary measures, Gombe United will also play their next home match behind closed doors at Pantami International Stadium in Gombe.

The club, however, has the option of accepting the sanctions or appealing the decision through the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
