Former Southampton and Royal Antwerp forward Victor Udoh reportedly died in Abuja on Monday night following suspected food or alcohol poisoning.

The 21-year-old winger, who joined Czech side Dynamo České Budějovice in October 2025, was believed to be on holiday at the time of the incident.

Royal Antwerp announced the shocking death of the Nigerian youngster on their social media platforms.

“With great dismay, RAFC has learned of the passing of former player Victor Udoh (21),” the Belgian club revealed.

“Our thoughts are with Victor’s family, friends, and loved ones. We wish them much strength, support, and warmth during this particularly difficult time,” they added.

In March 2023, Victor Udoh moved from Hypebuzz FC in Abuja to Belgian Pro League side Royal Antwerp. In his first season with the club’s youth team, he scored 12 goals in 21 games.

That season, he also made his official debut for the first team in their 4-1 home win over Charleroi.

On February 3, 2025, Udoh joined Premier League side Southampton on a three-and-a-half-year contract. He initially moved to the club’s U-21 squad and impressed in the few games he played.

On September 9, he left the club by mutual consent to facilitate a move into regular senior football. Just over one month later, he joined Czech side Dynamo České Budějovice.
