Nigeria Cricket coach, Steve Tikolo resigns by mutual consent

The Nigeria Cricket Federation on Monday announced the departure of Steve Tikolo, who has been serving as the Head Coach of the Senior Men's National Team and High-Performance Manager, effective immediately.

The information disclosed by the Federation Public Relations Officer, Musa Bodie indicated that the disengament of Coach Tikolo has been reached through a mutual agreement between both parties, marking the culmination of almost 40 months of dedicated service.

Throughout his tenure, Tikolo has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to nurturing talent, fostering teamwork, instilling discipline, and significantly contributing to the growth and professionalism of the squad.

Under his leadership, the team has achieved notable improvements in ICC T20 rankings, rising from 42nd to 37th position. Furthermore, Nigeria has emerged as a dominant force in West Africa and demonstrated increased competitiveness against higher-ranked East African countries.

Dr. Uyi Akpata, President of the Federation, stated: "The Board and Management of NCF extend their sincere appreciation to Steve for his unwavering commitment and dedication over the past three years. His on-field results have been outstanding, but it is the culture of discipline, hard work, passion, and dedication that will have a lasting impact."

Steve Tikolo expressed his gratitude, saying:

"I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with The Nigeria Cricket Federation and for the support I received from the players, staff, and management. I leave with positive memories and great optimism that the team will continue to improve."
