One of Sokoto United's most experienced players, Giwa Isaac has said that the mixture of experience and youth gave them the Super 8 ticket.

Speaking in Kaduna with www.sportingunlimited.ng reporter, Giwa said that it was a strong battle to pick the Super 8 ticket but his team was able to sustain the momentum because of the calibre of players Sokoto United paraded.

"The management and coaches took their time to mix the players with some experience players and lot of youthful players with determination. At a time ,it was looking dicey, but some of us kept urging the young ones off and off the field," he said.

Giwa, who has played for clubs like El-Kanemi, Gombe United, Wikki Tourist, Kastina United and Zamfara United also praised the commitment and expertise of Chief coach, Muhammad Dan' Asabe Garba, Technical Adviser in the person of Mansur Abdullahi and the Commissioner of Sports, Hon Jamilu Umar Gosta.

He said the role of the fans should not be forgotten, "as they were all there for us, surging us on fire constantly."

Giwa said his role model is Roberto Carlos of Brazil and that his most difficult match during the league was against Sporting Supreme of Abuja.

"We needed a point against Supreme to give us more hope of qualifying for the Super 8, we went all out and we thank God it ended in a draw."
