Former Super Eagles captain, John Obi Mikel has called for the unconditional release of Biafra seperationist, Nnandi Kalu, reports www.sportsunlimited.ng.The former Chelsea Wizkid, in an interview with Nenwetv, said the jailed secessionist has done nothing wrong to warrant the sentence.According the former Nigeria international, there's nothing wrong in asking for seperation, adding that that should not constitute treason."Nnamdi Kanu should be released immediately. I don’t see anything wrong in a man asking for Biafra. "I was a Biafran before Nigeria, and that will always remain a fact,” Obi said.
Speaking with a fiery conviction, Micheal Obi declared that “seeking self-determination is not a crime but a fundamental right.”
He emphasised that the voice of Nnamdi Kanu represents “a people who refuse to be erased, a history that cannot be rewritten, and an identity that cannot be negotiated.”
Obi added: “You cannot imprison the truth. You cannot silence a nation’s cry. Nnamdi Kanu deserves justice, and the world is watching.”
