League football continues across Europe this weekend following Cup competitions, and ahead of the UEFA Champions League resuming midweek. SuperSport will broadcast all the key fixtures from the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A and Ligue 1 on DStv and GOtv.

Premier League: Manchester Derby Takes Centre Stage

The Premier League resumes on Saturday with the standout fixture of the weekend as Man United host Man City at Old Trafford at 1:30 p.m. United come into the derby after a 2–2 draw away at Burnley and begin a new chapter following the appointment of Michael Carrick as head coach until the end of the season after the departure of Ruben Amorim. City, meanwhile, were held to a 1–1 draw by Brighton and sit six points behind league leaders Arsenal after three consecutive draws.

At 4:00 p.m., Chelsea host Brentford at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea return to league action under new head coach Liam Rosenior after going winless in five matches and slipping to eighth in the table. Brentford arrive in strong form following a 3–0 win over Sunderland and have climbed to fifth with four wins from their last five.

Liverpool also kick off at 4:00 p.m. as they welcome Burnley to Anfield. Fourth-placed Liverpool have drawn their last three league matches after previously winning three in a row. Burnley remain second from bottom and are winless in their last 12 Premier League games.

Saturday’s action concludes at 6:30 p.m. with Nottingham Forest hosting Arsenal. Arsenal remain six points clear at the top after a goalless draw with Liverpool and will look to extend their lead against a Forest side that claimed its first win in five matches last time out.

On Sunday, Wolverhampton Wanderers face Newcastle United at 3:00 p.m. Wolves remain bottom but are unbeaten in three after recording a win and two draws. Newcastle arrive in form following three straight victories, including a 4–3 win over Leeds.

The weekend’s Premier League programme closes at 5:30 p.m. as third-placed Aston Villa host Everton. Villa are level on points with City and will look to capitalise on any dropped points above them, while Everton have just one win in their last six matches. All Premier League matches will air live on SS Premier League (DStv Ch. 203, GOtv Ch. 65).

La Liga: Madrid Reset as Barcelona Build Momentum

La Liga action begins on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. as Real Madrid host Levante. Madrid come into the weekend after a difficult run that included defeats in the Spanish Super Cup and Copa del Rey, leading to the departure of Xabi Alonso. Alvaro Arbeloa takes charge for his first league match against a Levante side sitting 19th with just one win in their last ten.

At 9:00 p.m., Real Betis welcome Villarreal. Villarreal remain firmly in the title conversation, sitting four points behind Real Madrid and nine behind leaders Barcelona with a game in hand. They face a Betis side with just one win in their last five.

Sunday’s fixtures begin at 4:15 p.m. as Atletico Madrid host Alaves. Atletico sit fourth, three points behind Villarreal despite having played an extra match, and face an Alaves side with three defeats in their last four.

The round concludes at 9:00 p.m. with Real Sociedad hosting Barcelona. Barcelona come into the match after a strong week that included winning the Spanish Super Cup and progressing in the Copa del Rey. They hold a five-point lead at the top of La Liga and face a Sociedad side with one win in six. La Liga fixtures are live on SS La Liga (DStv Ch. 204, GOtv Ch. 62).

Serie A: Inter Lead, Milan and Juventus Apply Pressure

Serie A enters Matchday 21 with all teams in action. On Saturday at 3:00 p.m., leaders Inter travel to Udinese. Inter are three points clear at the top after defeating Lecce and face a Udinese side with one win in five.

Saturday night sees Juventus visit Cagliari at 8:45 p.m. Juventus have climbed to fourth after a difficult start to the season and are now within four points of second place. Cagliari sit 16th and have lost two of their last three.

Sunday’s fixtures include Torino hosting Roma at 6:00 p.m. Roma are fifth, level on points with Juventus, and arrive on the back of two straight wins. Torino sit 12th but have also recorded back-to-back victories.

The weekend closes at 8:45 p.m. as AC Milan face Lecce. Milan are second, three points behind Inter, and will look to close the gap against a Lecce side winless in five with three defeats. Serie A matches will be shown on SS Africa 2 (DStv Ch. 208, GOtv Ch. 64).

Ligue 1: PSG Chase Lens as Marseille and Lille Stay Close

Ligue 1 action opens on Friday night at 9:00 p.m. as Paris Saint-Germain host Lille. PSG come into the fixture following a win over Paris FC but remain one point behind leaders Lens after recent mixed results across competitions.

On Saturday at 5:00 p.m., leaders Lens host Auxerre, with Lens continuing their strong form while remaining active in the French Cup. At 9:05 p.m., Marseille travel to Angers. Marseille sit third, seven points behind PSG, and will be looking to respond after defeat to Nantes.

Sunday’s action concludes at 8:45 p.m. as Lyon host Brest. Lyon arrive in form after beating Monaco and sit fifth, two points behind Lille in the race for European places.
