After 90th minute of play, a winner could not emerge in the Copa del Rey final between Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad

A first minute goal by Barrenetxea and first half but 18 minute later, Ademola Lookman levelled scores for Atletico.

However, with a minute of added time in the first half, Musso scored from the penalty spot to give Sociedad a 2-1 lead.

With three minutes to regulation time, Julius Alvarez stalemated the match to drag the game into extra time.

At the end of the extra time, a winner could still not emerged forcing the tie to be decided on penalty shootout.

At the ensuing penalty shootouts, Sociedad goalkeeper, Unai Marrieeo denied Atletico to hand his team a 4-3 win.

Coming from the elimination of Barcelona in the quarter finals of the Champions League gave Atletico Madrid the edge over Real Sociedad but it was instead the underdog that triumphed at the end.

Lookman has therefore missed the opportunity to win his first trophy for his new club after a rewarding career in the Serie A with Atalanta, with whom he won the Europa League trophy with.
