Leverkusen celebrates Boniface's return

It was a momentus scenario as Bayern Leverkusen fans rose to accord Nigeria international, Victor Boniface in the clubs 4-0 bashing of Fortuna Dusseldorf in the semifinal of the German Cup on Wednesday.

True to manager Xabi Alonso's promise, the club's leading scorer was introduced in the 65th.

Few minutes after Florian Wirtz scored his second goal from the penalty spot after a handball, Leverkusen celebrated the return of striker Boniface, back in action for the club for the first time since December after he was injured while training with Nigeria ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Despite playing for less than 30 minutes, Boniface did enough to earn a 6/10 rating, indication he's back to full fitness but the manager is being careful to rush his return.
