Karate Styles heads back Dehinde's KFN presidency
Amidst opposition by some group on the emergence Fausat Dehinde as president of the Karate Federation of Nigeria (KFN) and backing by the National Sports Commission (NSC), another set of stakeholders are solidly behind her.
In a statement signed by Michklem Emechete-Attoh (8th Dan), his group strongly supports Dehinde's presidency.
Emechete-Attoh, who's the Country Representative Japan Karate Association (JKA) and former national head coach of the federation, restates that there's no problem in the federation, adding that the new president has been able to secure the inclusion of both Karate and para-Karate in the forth coming Intermediate Games.
"We've written to the NSC stating our strong support for the truly elected President of the Federation, Mrs Fausat Dehinde called Iyalaje Worldwide. There's no single problem in the federation," the member of the National Technical Committee said.
Emechete-Attoh, who once served as the Africa Zone 2 Technical President stressed the those objecting the recognition of Dehinde are disgruntled members.
"Those who are behind the publication have been suspended from both the Karate Federation and also from the African Karate body due to this same display of bad blood after losing the election.
"At this point, we are looking at imposing more severe sanctions on the concerned persons who are giving the public false information and trying to bring disrepute to our sport. We stand by Iyalaje worldwide any day. The National Tevhnical Committee members are all behind her," Emechete-Attoh said.
