Former Owan West Local Government Area chairman, Frank Ilaboya, has congratulated the Governor-elect of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo and his deputy, Dennis Idahosa, following their victory in the September 21 gubernatorial poll.

Ilaboya, who hailed the Independent National Electoral Commission for conducting a free and fair election, said the victory of the All Progressive Congress duo of Okpebholo and Idahosa’s victory was a testament to the trust Edo citizens reposed in them.

“I wish to congratulate Senator Monday Okpebholo and his deputy Rt Hon Dennis Idahosa on their victory at the poll. Their emergence shows the trust the people of Edo State repose on them, as dependable and trustworthy Leaders.

" This is a true reflection of the wish of the good people of Edo State and I urge all Edo people at home and in the diaspora to join hands with our governor-elect and his deputy to move the state to the next level,” Ilaboya said in a statement.

The former Edo FA Chairman also commended the leadership of the APC in the state and the National levels, noting that it was a tasking period of hard work and commitment.

He asserted that the unity of the leadership of the party and their commitment paid off.

He lauded Senator Adams Oshiomhole for his unwavering support to Okpebholo and his strides to ensure that Edo is taken to higher heights.

“The role of the party stalwarts and that of Senator Oshiomhole cannot be underestimated in the victory of the party at the September 21 poll. Comrade Oshiomhole has shown again that he’s a true and dependable leader who wants the good for his people at all times. It is worth commending and learning from. Leaders should know that one of the key elements to winning elections is by reconciling the post-primary's differences. This is where the APC got it right,” Ilaboya added.

He also commended the Owan West leaders for their steadfastness, dedication and unity of purpose which ensured outright victory as against the pre election predictions.
