Ikorodu City have been crowned champions of the 2026 Lagos State FA Cup after a 1-0 victory over G12 FC in a keenly contested men’s final. A decisive second-half strike from Tosin Ojedokun secured the title for Ikorodu City, concluding a campaign that showcased the quality of grassroots football and the competitive spirit across Lagos State.

In the women’s final, FC Robo Queens delivered a dominant performance, defeating Ghetto Tigers Ladies 4-0. The comprehensive victory reinforces Robo Queens’ standing as a leading force in women’s football, with their display earning commendation from fans and stakeholders present at the showpiece event.

The finals were marked by significant cultural and official representation. The 12 White Cap Chiefs from the Palace of the King of Lagos were in attendance, adding royal distinction to the occasion and reaffirming the enduring connection between football and the traditional institutions of Lagos State. Also present were Honourable Orekoya, Chairman, House Committee on Sports, and Hon. Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Obasa, Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government, whose attendance further underscored the importance of the tournament to stakeholders across governance and sport.

The Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) acknowledged the contribution of Cloud Sports, which streamed matches on behalf of the Association to audiences across Nigeria and the diaspora. The broadcast partnership enhanced visibility for participating clubs and players, extending the tournament’s reach beyond the stadium.

The ceremonial kickoff was performed by former NFF First Vice President and LSFA Chairman, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, alongside the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, Hon. Adeyinka Anthony Adeboye. The trophies were subsequently presented to the champions by the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Honourable Mobolaji Ogunlende.

The LSFA expressed its gratitude to the Nigeria Football Federation, the Lagos State Government, the Lagos State Sports Commission, participating clubs, match officials, security agencies, volunteers, supporters, and the media for their contributions to the successful hosting of the tournament. The Association noted that their collective support was instrumental in delivering a well-organized competition.

Following the conclusion of the 2026 edition, the LSFA reiterated its commitment to grassroots development, talent identification, and youth empowerment through football.

The Association congratulates Ikorodu City and FC Robo Queens on their achievements and remains focused on strengthening the Lagos State FA Cup in subsequent editions.
