Super Eagles star, Ademola Lookman has expressed delight signing for Atletico Madrid on the eve of the European football transfer deadline.

The former Atalanta of Italy striker who ditched his agreement with Fenerbahce of Turkey and opted for Spain will have his medical assessment today before formally sign the dotted lines for an extended contract.

Speaking for the first time on the deal at the Madrid airport, Lookman describing his excitement after arriving in the Spanish capital.

The Super Eagles winger touched down in Madrid on Sunday evening as the deal moved closer to completion, pending a medical examination and the signing of final contract documents.

“I’m very happy to be here, very, very happy. I’m looking forward to the challenge,” he said.

When asked whether he had already spoken to Atlético head coach Diego Simeone, the 28-year-old smiled before replying simply: “No.”
