German 2-1 CIV: Undav brace seals victory for Germany

Deniz Undav double sees Germany beat Ivory Coast at the death in 2026 World Cup thriller

The Julian Nagelsmann’s inspired second-half substitutions saw Germany fight back to beat Ivory Coast 2-1 at the 2026 World Cup.

Trailing 1-0, Nagelsmann made a triple change and two of his substitutes combined for the equaliser, with the impressive Deniz Undav firing home Nadiem Amiri’s cross.

Undav then struck again deep into stoppage time to secure a thrilling 2-1 victory.

Ivory Coast had earlier taken the lead through veteran midfielder Franck Kessie, following a wonderful run and cross into the box from the precocious talent Yan Diomande.
