Flying Eagles defeat Green Atlas with narrow margin

The Green Atlas FC of Kaduna, at the Goal Project pitch lost to the  Flying Eagles 2 -1 in a friendly match.

Green Atlas, debutant in the Nationwide League One (NLO) opened scoring in the 1st minutes through Peter Tafarki.

What should have been the equaliser for the junior national team was wasted as Green Atlas goalkeeper, Cosmos Akprreshi saved a penalty kick in the 21st minutes after one of of the Flying Eagles players was brought down in the box.

The equaliser finally came in the 30th minutes.

Both teams showed good possession while entertaining the crowd.

Sulieman Mustapha and Ojo Julius marshalled the midfield for Green Atlas. 

The first half ended 1- 1 

The two teams made changes on resumption with Ochei Joshua, Philip Maidawa and Marvelous coming in for Green Atlas. 

The Flying Eagles however scored the second goal in the 52nd minutes through a thunder bold from the edge of the box

It became show of skills and ball possession with both sides making daring incursions into each others 18 yard box.

The coach of Green Atlas, Shola Ibrahim Adewuyi said it was a good game.  "It was a high tempo match and we should know that the Flying Eagles are still building a team."

The chairman of the Green Atlas, Dr Tayo Adebisi said Nigeria is blessed with so much talents, adding that with the quality of technical crew led by Maikaba and players in the Flying Eagles camp and the process of building, he believes the country will raise a good team towards the qualifiers .
