Falconets star, Akekoromowei out for 8 weeks

Falconets star striker, Janet ‘Semenya’ Akekoromowei will now be sidelined for at least eight weeks after she dislocated her ankle in a 2026 U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier.

An MRI scan has revealed that ‘Semenya’ will be out of action for several weeks after the injury that forced her out of a first leg qualifier against Senegal in Abeokuta last week.

The injury kept the striker out of yesterday’s return leg qualifier in Senegal.

‘Semenya’ is a transfer target for several top European clubs.
