Ex-Delta Speaker, Ochei, may join NTF presidential race

A chieftain of All Progressive Congress ( APC), and former speaker of Delta State House of Assembly and a former ED NIMASA, Rt.Hon. Victor Ochei, a renowned philanthropist, investor and supporter of grassroots sports development in Nigeria, is been persuaded to contest for the position of the President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation ( NTF) by the top hierarchy of the National Sports Commission (NSC).

A chieftain of All Progressive Congress ( APC), and former speaker of Delta State House of Assembly and a former ED NIMASA, Rt.Hon. Victor Ochei, a renowned philanthropist, investor and supporter of grassroots sports development in Nigeria, is been persuaded to contest for the position of the President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation ( NTF) by the top hierarchy of the National Sports Commission (NSC).

Engr. Ifedayo Akindoju, was the former president of the Nigeria Tennis Federation who sadly passed away on October 3rd, 2025.

In a move to close the vacuum created by the death of its former president of the Nigeria Tennis Federation NTF, the sports commission and some stakeholders in the sporting industry are shopping for his replacement and they believed that the only person who can fit into that position is Victor Ochei, a former speaker of Delta State House of Assembly and former Governorships aspirant under (APC)he is the patron of the paralympic committee of Nigeria ( PCN).

Among his contributions to the Nation's sports in recent years was sponsorship of the Victor Ochei International wheelchair Basketball championship which attracted many Nigeria players from local and International scene for over seven years,the championship produced many stars for the country.

Ochei also sponsored Nigerian wheelchair Basketball teams to various International Competitions, including the Rio 2016 Olympic Games qualifiers in Algeria.
