Nigeria ex- Internationals across the country gathered to pay their last respect to late Sabastine Brodrick at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City during lying instate.

Technical director of the NFF Austin Eguaveon, who represented the NFF and also leader of veterans present at the venue, described late Brodericks as a father, mentor, dynamic, amiable and highly dedicated to the well being of Nigeria players, who brought the first FIFA junior World Cup to Nigeria and Africa. "We are gathered here today to pay our last respect to our father, mentor, coach and veteran football manager who was there for us. A man who won the first FIFA junior World Cup for Nigeria and Africa. We have indeed lost a great pundit who was always there for us. A man who can deny himself all pleasure to ensure that young Nigerian players excel in their chosen discipline."
"For NFF we would miss him a lot. He brought the first FIFA World Cup to Africa, for that we respect and honour him that is why we are present here."
Another former Nigeria international, Edema Fuludu said, " He was a great coach known for his meticulous act. He suffered to make us what we are today. He has actually played his part, he lived a fulfilled life, being the first African man to bring the first junior FIFA World Cup to Africa calls for national honour." For Victor Ikpeba, he said "I'm happy being in Benin to honour my big daddy late Pa, Sabastine Broderick, a man who saw it all in the round leather. My greatest joy is that he came, saw and conquered. Nigeria football family will always remember him for his exploits in coaching." According to Baldwin Bazuaye, the late Brodericks was a great father, and football manager."Nigeria football families will miss him greatly. As his child from Edo State we have come to pay our last respect to him. We appreciate him and also recognise him. He played a vital role in our upbringing as footballers. The history of FIFA junior World Cup would not be complete with Pa Sabara." "Pa Sabastine Broderick lived a fulfilled life but it's sad that the NFF didn't give him a perfect burial. For a man who conquered the World at the World Cup level, bringing the first FIFA junior World Cup to Africa and Nigeria not to be given a national honour at burial is bad. But I just pray NFF will get it right," says Peter Nieketien.
The Edo State Sports Commission Chairman, Yusuf Alli, the Edo State sports families and dignitaries from Nigeria sports industry were present to pay their last respect to the fallen hero at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium Benin City..
