Bullish Cyriel Dessers insists Rangers are set for a "really beautiful" ending to the campaign despite their heartbreaking Europa League exit against Benfica.

The Scottish Premiership leaders saw Rafa Silva's goal put the final roadblock in the way of their route to Dublin with the Lisbon - with frontman Dessers coming in for criticism for his performance from some sections of the Ibrox fan base as struggled to trouble the visiting backline.

Philippe Clement has brought the best out of the Nigeria international since the Belgian stepped into the hot seat - and despite doubters continuing to emerge over him personally Dessers reckons more silverware is on the way to Govan.

The 29-year-old already has a League Cup winners medal this season - and is eyeing up more glory in the Scottish Cup and Premiership before the campaign draws to a close.

Dessers insists that if the Light Blues match the performance level shown against Benfica domestically they are in for a bumper end to the campaign.

The Rangers star said: "This has to give us confidence. If you can show this against one of the best teams in Europe and can bring this level, this energy and this power into the league and the cup games then I think we can have a really beautiful end to the season."
