ANFASSC mobilises massive support for Rivers Ud against RS Berkane
As Rivers United prepare to host RS Berkane in a crucial Group Stage match of the 2025/26 CAF Champions League at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, the Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club (ANFASSC) is proud to announce a full mobilisation of its members in support of the Rivers United cause.
In a show of solidarity, hundreds of ANFASSC supporters travelled en masse to Akwa Ibom to rally behind Rivers United in what promises to be a high-stakes duel on Friday, November 28, 2025.
National President of ANFASSC, Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi, commended the Rivers State Commissioner of Sports, Chris Green, for what he described as “exceptional coordination and support” for Rivers United. This support system, he believes, will help reignite the club’s continental ambitions following their narrow defeat to Pyramids FC in the opening match of the group.
“ANFASSC stands firmly behind Rivers United. We believe in the talent, dedication and fighting spirit of the players. With the backing of Chris Green and the entire Rivers State sports community, our supporters will ensure the team feels our presence every minute of this match,” Prince Ogunjimi said.
Rivers United, Nigeria’s first NPFL club in several years to reach the CAF Champions League group stage, secured their place in the competition following a dramatic home victory over Mozambique’s Black Bulls, overturning a first-leg deficit.
Although the club suffered a 3–0 loss to Pyramids FC in their group opener, the ANFASSC leadership and supporters remain confident that the atmosphere at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Nigeria’s CAF-approved stadium for international matches will spur the team to bounce back strongly.
ANFASSC calls on all patriotic supporters of Nigerian club football and Rivers United fans worldwide to join in raising their voices in solidarity, to show unwavering support and rally behind the team.
