ANFASSC President rattles Amaju at sport dialogue
Former Nigeria Football Association (NFF) president, Amaju Pinnick was literarily rattled at the Big Sport Dialogue in Ikoyi, Lagos on Monday when the National President of the Authentic Nigeria Football & Allied Sports Supporters Club (ANFASSC), Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi, posed some daunting questions at him on the benefit Nigeria is deriving since he became a member of CAF.
Speaking with calm authority, Prince Ogunjimi rose to address the panel, asking a question that has lingered in the minds of many Nigerians for years.
Turning directly to the former NFF President and ex-CAF Vice President, Prince Abayomi asked: "With the powerful position you held at CAF, what exactly did Nigeria benefit from your office. What did your role bring back home to develop Nigerian sport?”
His tone was respectful but firm, representing the concerns of millions of passionate supporters who feel Nigeria’s presence at the continental level has not translated into visible improvements at home.
The room reacted immediately. Heads turned. Conversations paused. Attendees including top administrators, journalists, sports marketers, and federation officials, recognised that this was not just a question but also an important moment of accountability.
His question, direct and unfiltered, became one of the standout highlights of the event, echoing the collective voice of Nigerian fans who want to see national representation in global bodies produce real benefits for the country’s sporting future.
