Nigerian striker Wasiu Alalade has resurfaced in Iraq and hits the ground running with impressive performance so far from the former Kwara United star.

The 1.83m centre-forward has registered 5 goals and 4 assists in just 11 appearances for Al Kadhimiya marking one of the most productive stretches of his career.

Last two seasons, Alalade, a former Nigeria U-23 international played in Nigeria’s NPFL for Kwara United leading the club to a triumph in the 2025 Federation Cup Final.

After his departure at the Ilorin based club, the former Enyimba forward moved to Angola from where he joined the Western Asian club.

His arrival at Al Kadhimiya comes as a boost for his Iraqi club adding firepower in attack and helping create chances for his teammates.

Known for his physical presence and ability to play both centrally and on the wings, Alalade has been deployed primarily as a centre-forward during his career.

With the League in Iraq now on Sallah break, Alalade says he would continue to train hard personally so as for him to score more goals for his club when they resume.
