2026 WORLD CUP: Argentina, France rekindle rivalry, as England chase 2nd World Cup ,glory 60 years after

The 2026 World cup quarterfinals matches threw up interesting encounters and expectedly, the big boys moved steps higher towards the ultimate goal. 

Last World Cup finalists France,once again proved to be the nemesis of last term's semi-finalist Morocco win a 2-0 victory, as Mbappe and Dembele got the goals, to set up a mouth watering encounter with Spain, who defeated Belgium 2-1.

Two goals from Jude Bellingham were enough to send England into the semi-finals, as they earnestly seek a second title after 60 years. Thus facing defending champions Argentina in a big test in the semi-finals. 

Pundits and football aficionados have predicted tough encounters in the semi-finals, as any of the pre-championship favourites could cart home the ultimate crown.
