2026 PFC Quarter final: Edo Queens, N'Amazons in grudge battle

Reigning champions of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) premiership Edo Queens FC will on Thursday 18th, June 2026, tackle Nasarawa Amazons FC, in the quarter -final of the ongoing President Federation Cup showpiece.

The highly anticipated grudge match will be played at the Abubarka Audu, University Sports Complex Anyigba Kogi State. Kickoff time is 4 pm.

In 2025 edition of the President Federation Cup, (PFC), Nasarawa Amazons, edged out Edo Queens at the semi-final stage, the match was played at the same venue in Anyigba Kogi State.

In the recently concluded Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Super 6, in Port Harcourt Rivers State, Nasarawa Amazons, defeated Edo Queens by a lone goal in the first game of the competition, but despite that shocking loss, the Benin City Queens went ahead to win the NWFL prestigious premiership trophy with 10 points against all odds.

Last season's painful semi-final defeat to Nasarawa Amazons still hurts deeply inside Edo Queens dressing room. But tomorrow's quarter-final battle will be tough. It will be a game of two giants.

No matter what happens in tomorrow's PFC Quarter-final showdown, the spotlight will remain firmly on Edo Queens as the 2025/2026 NWFL reigning champions.

Speaking on tomorrow's PFC cracker between Edo Queens and Nasarawa Amazons, captain of the team Deborah Odiagbe, said: "We are in Anyigba, for serious business. We have put the NWFL premiership title behind us, this is another tough competition. We know our opponents, we are rivals in this business, they are not push over side. Edo Queens are here for victory. And by the special grace of God we will carry the day and advanced to the semi -final stage and finally win the PFC trophy. Our dream is to win double," she added.
