UEFA Conference League: Mateta's strike hands Palace title

Crystal Palace have emerged champions of the 2025/26 Europa Conference League after defeating Spanish side, Rayo Vallecano 1-0 in the final at the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig, Germany. 

After a pulsating goalless first half, striker Jean Mateta finally broke the deadlock in the 51st minute to hand Crystal Palace in yesterday's UEFA Conference League.

It was a game the centre referee had to assert his authority with nine yellow cards, three for Crystal Palace and six for Vallecano.

With Palace's victory, two of the three UEFA titles are now domicile in United Kingdom and Arsenal will attempt to make it a clean sweep on Saturday in the UEFA Champions League against PSG.
