Office of Pillar of Sports condoles with Agu-Ejidike over Loss of mother

The Office of the Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports, under the distinguished chairmanship of Prince Ajide Olayioye, extends its heartfelt condolences to Chief Donatus Agu-Ejidike, Nigeria’s revered Pillar of Sports, and the entire Agu-Ejidike family on the peaceful transition of their beloved mother, Ezinne Rita Chinego Ejidike (Omaka),, at the ripe and dignified age of 94, in the early hours of Friday, December 22, 2025.

The statement says "While the human heart naturally leans toward sorrow at such moments, we choose a higher vantage point—one of gratitude, celebration, and reverence.

It added"Mama’s transition is not a death in the ordinary sense; it is a glorious exit, the final whistle after a match beautifully played. Ninety-four years of impact, sacrifice, nurture, and legacy is not a tragedy—it is a triumph.

"The late matriarch lived a full life marked by grace, resilience, and the quiet strength that birthed great men and enduring values. Her life’s work is evident in the character, discipline, and service embodied by her son, Chief Donatus Agu-Ejidike, whose contributions to Nigerian sports and national development stand tall as living monuments to her upbringing.

"As an Office, we align with the African wisdom that says a life well lived deserves drums, not dirges. This is a moment to celebrate a woman who finished strong, bowed out honourably, and left footprints too indelible, for time to erase."

The office prayed that the Almighty grants the Agu-Ejidike family, fortitude, peace, and comforting pride in this season. May Mama’s soul rest in peace, and may her legacy continue to speak—softly, firmly, eternally.
