Legendary former Green Eagles star, Chief Segun Odegbami (MON) has confirmed that he will attend the Pastor Umo Eno Sports Award ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, 16 December 2025, at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo.
In a telephone conversation on Friday, 12 December 2025, with the Akwa Ibom State commissioner of sports Elder Paul Bassey the former Green Eagles captain dubbed “ mathematical” for his calculative and mazy runs confirmed his availability for the event organized by the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Sports to celebrate the state’s most outstanding athletes of 2025.
The 1980 AFCON winner—now proprietor of the Segun Odegbami International College and Sports Academy—will join other leading sports personalities at the ceremony, which includes prize presentations for winners of the 2025 Akwa Ibom State Sports Festival and the National Youth Games.
Odegbami will also serve as a resource person, delivering a motivational talk to young athletes titled “Sports and I.”
The event will be attended by top government officials, Akwa Ibom best athletes, chairmen of sport associations, local government chairmen and local sports supervisors amongst others.
