Delta Sports Commission boss assures on adherence to conditions and terms of games

The Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Mr. Onoriode Oborevwori has assured that the State Sports Commission would adhere strictly with the terms and conditions of the forthcoming 2nd edition of the Niger Delta Games scheduled to hold at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, Edo State.
Mr Oborevwori gave the assurance after being inaugurated as the Chairman of the Delta State Liaison Committee of the Niger Delta Games.
The Sports Commission Chairman lauded the NDDC and the consultants of the games Dunamis Icon for taking most of the financial burden off the states even as he advocated for more collaboration among the states.
The Project Director Dunamis Icon, Mr Fred Edore while inaugurayingbthe seven man committee, said the Niger Delta Games was an avenue to discover young talents from thee grassroots hence it had decided that only athletes from each state would represent their states as it was thee only way to give the indigenous people the opportunity to be discovered.
He also revealed that the games was an age grade event with athletes under age 20 expected to participate.
Mr Edore also enjoined the various state government's to support their state contingent in a bid to ensure that they had a seamless games experience.
The Secretary of the newly inaugurated body Mr Harrison Ochulor outlines the roles of the Liaison Committee to include organizing a qualification event across the variuos Local Governments as well as ensuring that only qualified athletes are registered for the games among other.
The members inaugurated as Delta State Liaison Committee members include, Mr. Onoriode Oborevwori as Chairman, Mr Francis Egwudiozor, Chief Godwin Adode, Chief Mercy Awana Mrs Emily Osakwe and Mr Jude Agbeyeke as members while Mr Harrison Ochulor is the Secretary.
