A unique era of sweeping genius, opens in sports; with a dazzling evolution and revolutionising therapeutic new type of football, known as Golden AGE Soccer,(GOLDAS). GOLDAS, which is so distinct from the normal football, is being introduced in the country as we speak.

The game which will have an exhibition match on Friday, December, 5th, 2025 at Ejigbo Mini Stadium, Ikotun Egbe Road with four teams participating, will comprise of 19 players per squad, playing for a total of 99 minutes over three halves of 33 minutes each.

According to the International President of the League Dr. Ngiejung Nabil, is being introduced with objectives to convert people's passion for football into solving their real life problems such as economic problems, poverty and youth unemployment.

" In the world today, there's no doubt that people have passion for football and can go to any length to support their team. Some even worship football as a religion and can stake their lives for the game and their favorite teams.

"We believe that this passion can be converted to help people solve their economic and social problems; be it anger, poverty, unemployment, conflict, anxiety or social tension.

"It's quite unfortunate that every year, youths graduate in geometric rates, while job opportunities doesn't occur even arithmetically . So, we are not just creating a sport or ambitious to become an independent body, neither are we out to make only millions from the game, but we want to use the sports to help people who have passion for the game", he stressed

The President further explained that the game for the first time will be played on an oval type of pitch, like the shape of the Earth (comprising of the Tropic of Cancer, Tropic of Capricorn, the Equator and the Longitudes used in measuring time). GOLDAS is thus different from the football we know with rectangular laws.

"These things I mentioned above, are blended seamlessly into the game with ingenious new laws that will make it not just a game of entertainment, but a game of talent development and edutainment.

On how the game will be played, he explained that the Arctic and Antarctica cycles of the South and North Polaris of the earth, will now become the ring of the goalkeepers. While a full squad will comprise of 19 players, 15 players will feature on the match form, with 9 players appearing in the field at a given time.

Six players will serve as match reserves with an obligatory law that makes it binding for all the players to be fielded at intervals, within the games 3 halves of 33 minutes each. This law seeks to promote equal participation for all team players.

He also noted that jerseys will not be numbered with numbers, but lettered with the letters of the alphabet.

" It will also interest you to know that in this game, the card concept changes; introducing us to a White, Earth Brown And Black Cards, used for discipline, and a Golden Card for rewarding good behaviours.

" The game is also unique because goals are not only counted only when a ball enters the net. Tactical skills and exceptional efforts, can amount to a point.

"There have been instances in other sports where a team dominates a game in skills but unfortunately conceded a goal and they became losers.

In GOLDAS, if a team can make 15 clinical passes, they will get half a point, and 3 minutes possession , equals a full point. Since sports is characterised by constant contacts, these are exceptional skills deserving of recognition.

This new injection of point reward, has made GOLDAS more engaging and swifter.

He also announced that the game which has been introduced in the United Kingdom, South Africa, Cameroon, Sierra Leone and Liberia, does not only recognize players for individual prizes, but also recognizes fans (depending on their level of support and engagement, they can win scholarships).
He further states that, an exceptional player stands a chance of earning points that can benefit the team to progress.
