In a statement personally signed by the club president, Amaefula Michael Chukwudi the management of the club dispelled the rumours as well as denied any plan to trade its slot.

"The management of Kun Khalifat FC has noted with concern the false reports and rumours circulating across social media and other platforms claiming that the club is selling its Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL slot.

Similarly, the president has announced plan to enter into partnership with interested public and private individuals and organisations ahead of next season.

"As we intensify preparations for the 2026/2027 NPFL season, Kun Khalifat FC is also pleased to announce that we are open for strategic partnerships and sponsorships.
