World Cup qualification: Super Eagles are condemned to winning ---- Official

A top official has spoken out on the Super Eagles' match bonus situation, saying it is a development that has condemned the players to winning and ensuring Nigeria's qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
"This is because all their commulative match bonuses are based on the World Cup qualification ticket," the official who preferred to stay anonymous disclosed.
He pointed out that if the players failed to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, they stand to lose a lot in terms of financial earnings from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The official told sportsunlimited.com that the qualification bonus system was what the Super Eagles players agreed to before the World Cup qualifying competition.
"The players know how important the World Cup qualification tickets means to them, and it was agreed that the players will earn a qualification tickets bonus if they qualify for the World Cup," he said.
His position is a corroboration of what the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Mallam Shehu Dikko, told our reporter, while on his way to South Africa for the Bafana Bafana versus Super Eagles match last month.
He said they agreed on a bonus system with the players, with each player getting $1000 Dollars even before kicking the ball.
The Super Eagles have played 8 matches out of the 10 qualification matches, with the only ones remaining being against Lesotho away and Benin Republic in Uyo.
