Terem Moffi takes steps to terminate Nice contracts
Super Eagles striker, Terem Moffi has dragged Nice to the Ligue 1 judicial commission in a bid to leave the club.
Moffi has had a torrid season at Ligue 1 club Nice. The Super Eagles striker contributed only three goals in his first 15 appearances of the season.
His lack of goals came at a very bad time for the club, as they were struggling to win games. In fact, they lost nine of their last ten games in 2025, and that triggered a negative response from their fans.
Matters came to a head last November when some Nice fans attacked the players after a 3-1 loss to Lorient. Nigerian striker Moffi was one of the worst hit, as he sustained injuries and had to be treated at the hospital.
After the incident, the Nice management and some of the top individuals in the French football ecosystem came out publicly to condemn the actions of the fans.
However, reports emerged that Moffi was unhappy about the situation and was contemplating an exit. In fact, he has refused to play for the club since November 2025, despite being fit.
Now, in a fresh report per GFFN, the Super Eagles star has made up his mind and has started taking steps to end his stay in Nice.
GFFN reports that Terem Moffi has dragged Nice to the Ligue 1 judicial commission in a bid to get the club to release him.
The 26-year-old striker still has around 15 months left on his deal, but he wants to end his stay at the club. He believes that Nice did not do enough to ensure his and his teammates' safety on the day of the incident.
Both parties will face off at the judicial commission on Thursday, January 15, as they aim for a conclusion.
If Moffi's contract is eventually terminated, he is not short of options, as other Ligue 1 clubs are keeping tabs on the situation.
So, if he leaves, he is sure to get a new club this month. Paris FC are interested, and he could be tempted with the prospect of joining compatriot Moses Simon.
Boniface undergoes successful surgery in Innsbruck
Local Bremen news source Deich Stube reports that Victor Boniface has successfully undergone necessary surgery in Innsbruck.
Persistent knee problems were sited as the reason behind the Nigerian striker's lack of involvement before the winter break.
Even though the procedure was without complications, this does not change the sporting consequences.
The 25-year-old will no longer be available for Horst Steffen and Bremen as a striker for the remainder of the current campaign.
Bremen's management remains in close contact with Bayer Leverkusen to coordinate the best possible rehabilitation plan.
All in all, Boniface featured in 326 just minutes of Bundesliga action, providing assists against Borussia Mönchengladbach and VfL Wolfsburg.
