Rivers Utd suspends Eguma

One of the longest coaches in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Stanley Eguma may have been relieved of his job at Rivers United.

Unconfirmed report indicates that Eguma who had stayed on the job for about 25 years has been asked to stay away from the team for three weeks.

Sportsunlimited.ng gathered that the coach was issued a letter directing him to proceed on compulsory leave, a source close to the club said he might have had his job terminated.

In the last matches against Sporting Lagos and Doma United, his assistant, Evans Ogenyi was in charge.
The club remained silent on the suspension/ compulsory leave. Eguma has been in charge at that club since 2008, making him the longest serving coach, ever, in Nigeria.
