Jose Peseiro quits as Super Eagles coach

His contract expired in February. Although there were reports that the NFF was negotiating with the Portuguese to renew his contract, Peseiro is leaving the post.

Twenty two months after his appointment, Jose Peseiro has announced he's quitting the job.
The Portuguese had never enjoyed the confidence of Nigerians but his employer, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) kept faith in him to take the team to the Africa Nations Cup, leading the Nigeria national team to the final before losing to host, Cote d'Ivoire.
Peseiro claimed he had offers from Zamalek of Egypt and the Algeria national team but was also renegotiating a new contract with Nigeria.
However, a source in the NFF confirmed Peseiro's exit after the Portuguese had posted on X ( former twitter) that he has had enough of handling the Super Eagles.
