Former Edo State governor now a Senator representing Edo North, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole was the center of attraction at the 10th Okpekpke Gold Label 10km race yesterday.

In a similar vein, all the international medals went to Kenyan athletes as they dust all others in the highly competed race.

Senator Oshiomhole's arrival at the finishing point elicited wild jubilation from the over 2000 crowd that included the traditional rulers in and around the Okpekpke community.

The former governor, after finishing the race, took turn to have handshakes with almost all the spectators with shouts of "Osho Baba" renting the airways.

Meanwhile, Kenyans - Pingua Zakayo Edward 29.31, Isaac Kimpeuboi 29.36 and Alex Olotiptip Korio 29.36 came first, second and third respectively in the Men's race.

In the Women's category, Gladys Kwambuka - 33.05, Regina Wambai 33.38 and Sheila Cherotich 34.27 came first, second and third in that order.

In the Nigeria version, Francis James Musa with a time of 30.46 dethroned defending champion, Isaac Sadjo who clocked 31.51 and Dung Elijah Emmanuel with a time of 32.02 to second and third positions.

Patience Daylop Nwanywang retained the title she won last year with a time of 37.07 to beat Yilmunem Nicholas 37.23 and Blessing Shambo Solomon 37.28 to second and third positions respectively.
