Kogi State Football Association chairman, Hassan Muhammad Wada is impressed with the state of facilities at the on going AFCON.
Wada described facilities at the Afcon as world-class and urged other African countries to emulate Morocco.
"This my fifth time of coming here and I observed they keep improving the facilities. You can see they are ready to host the 2030 World Cup which is a plus for the African continent.
The kogi FA boss said the FA focus is to get Kogi State team back in the national league and to identity talents from school sports and other grassroots programme in the state. "Right now we are focusing on school sports and Grassroots programmes. We have lots of talents that need to be identified and nurtured. We are not happy with the state of our football and we have started working on this deficiency since we resume in November 2023.
"We are also organising coaching course for coaches development to get the proper certification for our coaches and to improve our football pitches.
"We are also working on getting a 1000 seater capacity football facility in all local government on Kogi State because good facilities will encourage our kids and youths to participate in football activities," he said.
