Despite playing just 33 mins, Iwobi gets higher rating than Bassey
Alex Iwobi might not have played more than 33 minutes in Nottingham Forest 3-1 bashing of his team but his contributing has been considered higher than that of his compatriot, Calvin Bassey, writes www.sportsunlimited.ng.
It was an incredibly disappointing night in Nottingham for the Whites, with Fulham once again falling behind on their travels – unlike the weekend though, there was no remarkable comeback as the away record continued to be the curse of this season.
Bassey lasted the entire duration of the match and was rated as the better of the two centre backs.
Compared to the first half, the Super Eagles defender did better in the second half as he defended more positively and nip in front of Wood and Gibbs-White.
But it was shocking that despite his performance, he got a rating of 5/10.
In contrast, Iwobi who played for only 33 minutes got a rating of 6/10.
Alongside Pereira, Iwobi was the only player playing at the expected level, consistently and successfully breaking lines and getting the team up the pitch as we have seen already so much this year.
Why he was removed early, only coach Marco can explain.
